Mining open pit exploration. Igarapé is also a location for a mineral water mine. Part of one of the most important water reserves in the world, Guarani Aquifer, is partially located in Minas Gerais. The aquifer is under threat due to the abusive deforestation, excavation, water consumption demanded by mining and by farming and use of pesticides.
